Daytrips to Zante Town
Zante Town which is the capital is approx 25 mins driveaway from Amoudi. Its all happening around Solomos Square, as the huge statue of Dionysios Solomos is right in the middle of it. Solomos was the 19th-century Zakynthian poet who wrote the famous Greek national anthem. Across the road is the 17th-century Renaissance-style Saint Nicholas Church, and around the corner is the Byzantine Museum, home to the 15th-century wall paintings.
